We are all on a quest to finding our Uhuru: Freedom/Emancipation. We struggle against convention, culture and society to become who we were before “foreign voices woke us up and we drowned.” Tribe 53 is our story, the story of all those who are seekers, hippies, bohemians, living outside of convention and daring everyday to live in our truth and to finding our voices.
I am the Bohemian Motswana also known as Afrika Bohemian. Tribe 53 is an offering to my tribe (fellow modern hippies), it is a space for all those who live life to the beating of their own hearts.
A little about the Afrika Bohemian: I am a member of the Botswana society of the arts, a service yogini, a mental health advocate, a cubicle worker somewhere in corporate Botswana and a 200 hr certified Yoga teacher living and working in Gaborone. I am also a proud graduate of the Africa Yoga project.
I use this space to share all things; cultural Botswana (also the hippie side), Art, Culture, Yoga and most importantly my quest to finding Uhuru (Freedom/Emancipation). The view is apologetically Afrikan, straight out of the heart of Botswana.
